“At Raise the Roof Academy, Lent is one of our favorite seasons in the Christian calendar… this season draws us spiritually deeper into prayer, fasting, and self-examination, something we long for as we daily learn of the suffering, pain, and loss children endure. This year’s prayer and meditation journal affirms the hope we have to seek out opportunities during Lent to join others in prayer, fasting, and self-examination. Meditations written by pastors and spiritual leaders from the US and Uganda have been paired with a prayer by a RTRA Choir student. We chose the theme, “Pray With the Children,” because we believe we are all children of God. During these 40 days of Lent (Feb 18 – April 4), we are turning our attention from all our distractions and sharing our resources with children in deep need.
