Upper Room Devotionals

The UPPER ROOM daily devotional for March-April is now available without cost in the foyer of the church, or contact the church office to have a copy mailed to you. As we enter the Lent & Easter seasons, the UPPER ROOM is a great devotional aid to be closer to God in everyday life. In these challenging times, we can and need to be close to God through prayer and meditation on sacred scriptures in our daily lives.

Feb. 14th: “Happy Little Hearts” Paint & Sip

Our friends at the Circle Community Church have invited our community to join an upcoming event hosted at the Brookmeade building. “Looking for a cozy, creative way to spend Valentine’s Day that isn’t all about couples and clichés? Join us for Happy Little Hearts, a relaxed paint-and-sip afternoon designed to foster connection, creativity, and community on a day that can feel isolating for many.

We’ll be painting together (with a Bob Ross video for inspiration), listening to smooth jazz, and enjoying charcuterie, coffee, tea, and wine in a warm, low-pressure environment. Whether you come with a partner, a friend, your family, or on your own, this space is for everyone. No art experience needed. Just come as you are.” Click HERE to RSVP to this event being held Saturday, February 14th at 12 pm.

Sunday 2/8: Congregational Meeting & Soup Lunch

As of now, we are still planning to hold our Congregational Meeting on Sunday, February 8, 2026. We will meet as a congregation following worship to receive reports, a budget, and a slate of officers for congregational approval. We will need a quorum present to make the business of the church move forward, so we ask that you mark your calendar and share your gift of presence and covenantal support for the ministry we continue to live into. Because it is Souper Bowl Sunday, we will dedicate the soup that has been collected for Second Harvest Food Bank, and we will share in some delicious homemade soups provided by members. If you would like to bring a soup to share or some sides (bread, sweet things, alternative ideas), we welcome the spirit of abundance and sharing that allows all to share in the blessings God provides. We look forward to seeing you all and discussing the next steps in our visioning work and the building of a strategic plan for ministry.

– Pastor Liz (She/Her) and Church leadership

*If you cannot attend in person and want to join via Zoom or designate another member to vote for you by proxy, please contact the church office!

Join our Project CURE Volunteer Group Saturday, February 7th from 9:30 – 11:30 am! These are surplus supplies that are sent to countries all around the world that need them. No training required to participate! Please RSVP to the church office if you plan to attend. Thank you for helping support this important ministry.

Collection to Fight Hunger

Thank you, Brookmeade, for always being kind, thoughtful, and generous. During this season of uncertainty for so many families we will be collecting canned goods. If you can bring a few cans each week, this will help us help those in need. We will keep track of our collection and hope to celebrate how we have helped. Monetary donations are also always welcome! Leading up to the “Souper Bowl of Caring” on February 8th, we will be collecting extra soup cans in particular.

Our next COW Offering benefiting Second Harvest and Heifer International will be Sun. 2/1.
