2017 was a successful year for COW Sundays. What is COW Sunday? The first Sunday of every month we Contribute Our Wealth (COW) to help fight hunger in Middle Tennessee and worldwide. On COW Sunday we ask everyone to bring in non-perishable foods to put in the shopping cart. These foods are delivered to Second Harvest Food Bank. We also take up a cash collection that is split between Second Harvest and Heifer International. Remember to bring in food and extra offering for COW (Contribute Our Wealth) Sundays!
Sat. March 3rd: Project CURE Volunteer Group
Join us for our next trip to the Project CURE Warehouse (2300 Clifton Ave.) to sort medical supplies to be sent to developing countries! Sat. Mar. 3rd from 9 am to 12 pm.
Fri. March 16th: Open Mic Night
Save the Date! Brookmeade Open Mic/Coffee House will be Friday, March 16th at 7:00 pm. The doors will open at 5 pm for musicians to arrive and practice. Sign up for a time slot at the front door when you arrive. We are asking participants to limit performance time to 2 songs. Feel feel to bring snacks and beverages to share! Childcare provided.
Brookmeade Drum Circle
All are invited to an open and welcoming drum circle after worship each Sunday. Bring a drum or drum substitute. There are a few other percussion instruments available at church. Meet in the sanctuary after you’ve had a few minutes to enjoy coffee fellowship.
Sun. Feb. 18th: Ministry Team Installation
On Sun. February 18th, we’ll have a special moment in our worship service to honor the commitments of those who have chosen to join ministry teams. If you have not yet turned in your yellow card indicating your commitment, please do so before Sunday 2/18! We hope for 100% of the congregation to commit to the teams in some way!
3rd Sundays: Brookmeade Youth Group
Come join us for food, fun, fellowship (and a bit of learning and service as well!) We meet the 3rd Sunday after church from 11:45-1:00. Kids from 4th – 12th grade are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please invite your neighbors and friends as well. We’ll make and eat lunch, have some recreation time, and then a brief discussion on a chosen topic. Student Pastors Sarah and Margaret will serve as facilitators. If you’d like to learn more about being a mentor for this group, contact Keri. We look forward to seeing you!

Sun. Feb. 4th: Souper Bowl of Caring
The NFL Super Bowl is February 4th. That is also the date of the Brookmeade Annual Souper Bowl of Caring. We ask everyone to bring in cans of soup to be delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank. We will also pass the soup pot around and collect money for Second Harvest and Heifer International, since the Souper Bowl falls on COW (Contribute Our Wealth ) Sunday. Tens of thousands of Churches and organizations nationwide participate in the Souper Bowl to bring awarness of the hunger problem in their local communitites. Last year Brookmeade collected 180 cans of soup! Lets meet or beat that in 2018!

The 1st Sunday of each month is COW Sunday. We ask everyone bring in non-perishable food items. We will bring the groceries to Second Harvest Food Bank. We also take up a monetary collection which is split between Second Harvest Food Bank and Heifer International. Brookmeade doing a small part to alleviate hunger!
