“Be the Light”: One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) is a vital special mission offering of the United Church of Christ. It connects you to disaster relief, refugee assistance, and development efforts around the globe. When disasters strike, or when individuals are displaced due to violence or poverty, OGHS ensures immediate response and ongoing recovery. Through your support, OGHS funds comprehensive development programs in areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, food security, microfinancing, and women’s empowerment. By partnering with Global Ministries and international response networks, OGHS maximizes its impact. Your contributions help meet urgent needs while addressing the root causes of vulnerability, ensuring long-term, sustainable solutions for affected communities. Brookmeade will be collecting the OGHS offering on Sunday, March 30th. You can send/bring a check to the church office anytime during the month of March, or give online via Tithe.ly by choosing “OGHS Offering” on the drop-down menu. Thank you for your generosity! Learn & Grow: Lenten Study begins 2/23!

Our Learn & Grow class meets Sunday mornings at 9:15 am. Next Sunday, February 23rd, we will be beginning a new study, “The Final Days: A Lenten Journey through the Gospels” by Matt Rawle, which focuses on the themes of justice, poverty, freedom and love.

During this study we will explore the story of Jesus’ last week in Jerusalem from the perspective of the four New Testament Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Each of the Gospels tells this story from a unique lens, revealing diverse and complementary perspectives about God’s work in the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus.

All are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings for learning, discussion and fellowship.

Schedule:

2/23 – Meet You at the Flagpole

3/2 – Looking for a Messiah

3/16 – You Have Said So, but I Say to You: The Passion according to Matthew

3/23 – A New Covenant to Remember: The Passion according to Luke

3/30 – A Word that Weeps: The Passion according to John
