First Sundays of the month we collect our COW Offering. Monetary donations are split between Second Harvest of Middle TN and Heifer International. You can also bring canned goods on Sunday morning to donate to Second Harvest. Please designate your check for COW Offering or if you give online you can choose COW offering on the drop-down menu on Tithe.ly. Thank you for supporting these important organizations and helping Brookmeade fight hunger!

Sat. Sept. 3rd: Project CURE Volunteer Group

Our next trip to the Project CURE Warehouse (2300 Clifton Ave.) is scheduled for Saturday, September 3rd, 9:30 am – 12 pm. We will be sorting medical supplies. Newcomers are very welcome! For planning reasons and to make sure we are COVID safe we need a head count for our group prior to volunteering. Please RSVP to the church office if you plan to attend. Sat. Sept. 17th: Upper Room UCC Fellowship Tent Revival Brunch

Without meeting for over two years due to Covid, the Upper Room UCC Fellowship resumes!  Finding a way forward to meet in the Fall on Saturday, Sept 17th @ 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Community Church (6727 Charlotte Pike)! Event’s Theme: “Revive Us Again!” Instead of our usual evening potluck, this will be a catered mid-day Covid-safe brunch gathering of our Nashville-area UCC churches under a big tent with pole fans for good ventilation!  We will gather to grow in prayer & meditation and to be closer to God and one another: Brookmeade Congregational Church, Holy Trinity Community Church, and Howard Congregational Church! Special Guest Speaker: Rev. Kim Wood, Southeast UCC Conference Minister! Bringing a message of hope & revival to all people and all Southeast UCC churches! Save the Date! 

Sun. Aug. 14th: Celebrating Pastor Laura

Brookmeaders are so very blessed to have Pastor Laura Hodges on our pastoral team. She will be preaching on August 7 and be with us on August 14 when we will have a special time of thanks and appreciation for her ministry here at Brookmeade. Pastor Laura’s plans have changed and we are so excited that she will continue to be a part of our pastoral team for the foreseeable future. On Aug. 14th, all are invited to share some of the ways that Pastor Laura’s presence has touched your spiritual life and our church. Following services, we’ll have a special Coffee Fellowship in honor of Pastor Laura with a special cake of her preference and other delicious delicacies! Brookmeade Fellowship Team invites the congregation to bring other finger foods & desserts as you can for this special day!

Sun. Aug. 7th: Learn & Grow Returns!

Learn & Grow returns on August 7th at 9:15 a.m.  Join us for an hour of study and discussion each Sunday for an hour before the worship service. In August, we are going to learn about how Brookmeade supports ministries in our community. You can learn more about what Brookmeade already does and how you can get involved.

Sunday, July 31st: Music Sunday

Our next Music Sunday on July 31st will be a day of special songs and readings. Please share with us your favorite hymns, songs, poems and why they hold special meaning for you. As always, singers and musicians are encouraged to share your gifts with us on this day. Please contact Steve, Mike or the church office with your suggestions and requests. We look forward to a meaningful time together as we join hearts and voices.

Sunday, July 10th: Anniversary Celebration

Brookmeade Anniversary Celebration this Sunday 7/10 @ 11:30 AM, following worship service! To celebrate Brookmeade’s 69th Anniversary, we’ll gather covid-safe outdoors under a big tent with fabulous food, live music & fellowship! Weather will be breaking our way with a cool-down for the weekend! Forecast for Sunday: No rain, lower humidity, mid-day temps only in mid-80’s, plus our tent will have fans! Pork barbecue lunch provided with all the fixin’s, as we say in the South: baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, deviled eggs, fried chicken & banana pudding! Special Musical Guest Dave Coleman is a Nashville based artist, multi-talented Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist/Music Producer & Engineer!

Following worship services, we will celebrate Brookmeade’s 69th anniversary as a reformulated church under our current name!  Like last year, we’ll gather covid-safe outside under a big tent with fabulous food, music & fellowship!  Rain or shine event!  Food provided by the Brookmeade Fellowship Team largely via catering this year, but the congregation is invited to bring additional potluck delights as able.  Holy Trinity UCC will be our honored guests for the day to further our continuing efforts at collaboration & greater fellowship with them.  This is also a good time to reach out and invite neighbors & friends to better know Brookmeade Congregational Church!
