Project CURE Volunteer Group is scheduled for Saturday, February 2nd, from 9:30 am – 12 pm (2300 Clifton Ave, 37209). We will be sorting medical supplies to be sent to hospitals in developing countries. Everyone is welcome, including newcomers! See you there!
Sat. 1/26: Kathy Campbell Celebration of Life Service
Join us in celebrating the life of beloved Brookmeader Kathy Campbell on Saturday, January 26th at 3:00 pm. The song filled celebration will be followed by a finger food reception. Donations can be made in memory of Kathy to Brookmeade Congregational UCC or to your favorite charity.
Mon. Jan. 21st: MLK Day March
Several Brookmeaders will be meeting at 8:45 am to carpool to the MLK Day March at TSU. We will leave Brookmeade at 9 am to head to TSU. Be sure to bundle up, as it will be a cold one this year! We look forward to seeing you all there!
Sun. Feb. 3rd: Souper Bowl of Caring and COW Offering
The NFL Super Bowl is February 3rd. That is also the date of Brookmeade’s traditional “Souper Bowl of Caring”. Like in years past, we ask everyone to bring in cans of soup to be brought to Second Harvest Food Bank. It is also COW (Contribute Our Wealth) Sunday. We will pass around the soup pot and collect money for Second Harvest and the Heifer International. Last year was our best Souper Bowl ever with 304 cans of soup. Let’s see if Brookmeade can tackle hunger by bringing in more this year!
Sun. Jan. 27th: Third Room in the Inn
There are sign up sheets for this year’s Room in the Inn dates on the Community Life board! This year we will be hosting RITI on Sundays: Jan. 27th, Feb. 24th. For January 27th, we still need volunteers to help with set up and drivers for Sunday night.
Sun. Jan. 20th: Congregational Meeting & Potluck
Join us for the first Congregational Meeting and Potluck of 2019 on Sunday, January 20th following the service. There is a sign up sheet for the Potluck on the Community Life board in the hallway. We hope everyone can join us and fellowship together as we discuss where Brookmeade is headed in the New Year!
Sun. Dec. 30th: Music Sunday
Join us or a special service of readings and song on Sunday, December 30th. The theme is “Hope for the New Year”. If you would like to participate in the service please contact Mike R. 
Sun. Jan. 6th: COW Offering
The first Sunday of every month is COW Sunday (Contribute Our Wealth). Everyone is encouraged to bring non-perishable food for Second Harvest. All money donations are split between Second Harvest and Heifer International. Brookmeade doing its part to alleviate hunger!

Sun. Dec. 23rd: Christmas Fund Offering
One of the five special mission offerings of the UCC, the Christmas Fund provides pension and health premium supplementation to lower-income retired church workers, emergency assistance to clergy or lay church employees in need, and Christmas “Thank You” gift checks to hundreds of annuitants. Through your gifts to the Christmas Fund, you, too, can embody Shepherding the Light and pass on God’s love. Brookmeade will receive the Christmas Fund Offering on Sunday, December 23rd.
