Sun. Dec. 8th: Last Day to Donate to the Last Minute Toy Store

Over 5000 reasons to celebrate giving this Christmas. In 2018, LMTS broke all previous records providing Christmas to 5689 children and over 1000 volunteers made it happen. The Last Minute Toy Store is a 501c(3) ministry of Highland Park Church and The United Methodist Churches in partnership with Sheriff Daron Hall and The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office along with The United States Marine Reserve Toys for Tots, churches, business, civic groups, and individuals to provide gifts to Nashville families in need since 1993.

New, unwrapped toys (no clothing or footwear) and other age-appropriate gifts in the $10 – $25 price range are needed for ages newborn to eighteen. Gifts for all ages are helpful, but in the past we have had a special need for items for teenagers and toddlers. For teens, It is sometimes hard to find gift items in the $10-$25 price range. We really hope you will consider donating gift cards in the amount of $10-$25 to stores such as: Walmart, Amazon, Old Navy, Rue 21, Dollar General etc. (iTunes NO Longer recommended!) If you would prefer to buy specific items, here are some ideas: Jewelry, make-up kits, purses/wallets, watches, bean bag chairs, ear buds, ear phones, skateboards, etc. Please steer away from clothing, shoes, and small accessories for the teens. Those are seldom chosen as gifts. Brookmeade will have a box in the foyer. Bring your unwrapped toys. Deadline is December 8th.

Thursday, Nov. 28th: Thanksgiving Day Potluck

Our traditional Brookmeade Thanksgiving Potluck meal will be on Thanksgiving Day at 2 pm. We ask everyone to bring something to share.  Bring your family and/or friends; all we need is a count – and your food contributions –  to plan with. Please contact the church office (615-352-4702; Brookmeade@comcast.net) or sign up in the fellowship hall. Volunteers to help set up or clean up would be appreciated! Thanks!

Learn & Grow: November Gratitude Study

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday we want to take some time think about gratitude.  In Ephesians 5: 20 Paul writes, “giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”  We should give thanks to God for we have received much from the Creator’s hand.  We also want to think about giving thanks to those around us for they have also given us much.  Come join us Sundays at 9:15 to spend some time thinking about gratitude.

Sun. Nov. 3rd: COW Offering

The first Sunday of every month is COW Sunday (Contribute Our Wealth). Everyone is encouraged to bring non-perishable food for Second Harvest. All money donations are split between Second Harvest and Heifer International. Brookmeade doing its part to alleviate hunger!
