January – February Maker’s Series

In January and February we will be having a Maker’s series for Time with Family in Worship!  Share something that you have made with our community.  It could be food, craft, carpentry, art, or whatever you make!  Time with Family is meant to be a time when we get to know each other.  Let us get to know you.  Sign up in the coffee fellowship room on the bulletin board for a Sunday starting in January.

Sun. Jan. 5th: COW Offering

The first Sunday of every month is COW Sunday (Contribute Our Wealth). Everyone is encouraged to bring non-perishable food for Second Harvest. All money donations are split between Second Harvest and Heifer International. Brookmeade doing its part to alleviate hunger! Our next COW Offering is on January 5th.

Learn & Grow Advent Art Series

Student Pastor Becca Griffin is finishing up her time at Vanderbilt Divinity Student where her concentration is in Religion and Art in Contemporary Culture.  As part of her concentration, she has done a project with Vanderbilt Divinity Library’s online Revised Common Lectionary. She will be sharing art from this project relevant to Advent beginning this Sunday, December 8th.  We will discuss the visual art included in this project, discussing the new artists like Omari Booker whose art was featured on the front of the bulletin this past Sunday, December 1.  You can see his art at omaribooker.com.  You can see browse art from the Revised Common Lectionary Art Project here or look at Advent art by clicking “Art” in the different weeks of Advent here.
