The 5th Sunday of March (3/31) is Music Sunday! Our theme will be: “A Joyful Heart”. Please contact Mike R. or the church office if you’d like to contribute a song, reading, poem or other performance!
February has flown by, which means RISE, the Gathering is just around the corner! At the RISE gathering, we will live into who we are as Brookmeaders by sharing and working together. Through our collaboration it is our hope that we will develop a focus and ground for decision making in the midst of our current and future transitions. We ask that you please fill out the questions in the RISE packet. These are located on the welcome table at church and in your weekly emails. It is important that we all think through and prepare answers to these questions individually in order that we all come to the gathering table prepared for our collective work. Each and every one of you is a beloved member of our community. At the gathering table there is a seat for us all.The first Sunday of every month is COW Sunday (Contribute Our Wealth). Everyone is encouraged to bring non-perishable food for Second Harvest. All money donations are split between Second Harvest and Heifer International. Brookmeade doing its part to alleviate hunger!
Project CURE Volunteer Group is scheduled for Saturday, March 2nd, from 9:30 am – 12 pm (2300 Clifton Ave, 37209). We will be sorting medical supplies to be sent to hospitals in developing countries. Everyone is welcome, including newcomers! See you there!

Adora and Mike R. are organizing our event this year. When we asked Adora about plans for the evening she said, “This year we will be in the round. We would like folks to let us know if they have someone they want to share their set with and also if they prefer to be early in the evening or later.”
Our building will be open at 5:00 pm for folks who would like to get to the church early to practice. Contact Adora well in advance if an accompanist is needed, so she can make arrangements and get music to them.
Please RSVP to the church office by phone 615-352-4702 or by email at brookmeade@comcast.net. We will pass your info along to Adora. If you have any questions let us know when you RSVP. Thanks!

Our feature performer this year is Americana singer-songwriter Claudia Nygaard. 2019 becomes a stellar year for Claudia as she releases her new album Lucky Girl produced by Grammy nominated Neilson Hubbard. Her previous album Let the Storm Roll In charted at #1 on the Roots Music Country Chart and at #26 on the Cashbox Roots Music Americana chart.

We are excited to feature Claudia this year. She has won numerous awards for her songwriting skills, and she is gifted as a storyteller. Claudia will be on at 8:00 pm, so don’t miss her set!

There are sign up sheets for this year’s Room in the Inn dates on the Community Life board! Our last day to host RITI this season is Sunday Feb. 24th. For that date, we still need volunteers to host, set up, drive and do laundry.
